Frank Mason, NA - Since 1951, Mr. Mason has been an Instructor of Fine
Art at the Art Students League in New York where he succeeded his
own distinquished tutor, Frank Vincent DuMond. He has received many
honors and awards for his classical style, reminiscent of Titian,
Rembrandt and Velazquez. The awards include the Prix d'Amerique du
Nord, the American Artists Professional League Gold Medal of Honor
and the Order of Malta's Cross of Merit, Prima Classe. He is a member
of the National Society of Mural Painters and the Royal Society of
the Arts. In 1972, he was elected a full Academician of the National
Academy of Design.
Mason's paintings
and murals are displayed in national and international collections.
His compositions include portraits, landscapes, still life and murals.
Although known for his painting and teaching, his interests expand
to music, sculpture, poetry and theatre.
