J. Ken Spencer, born 1968 in Ogden , Utah , began painting at age 14, studying with local artists and teachers. Spencer attended Utah State University , earning a Bachelor's Degree on Illustration in 1993.
      Mr. Spencer then moved to New York , where he worked as an illustrator for book and magazine publishers. At that time he began his fine art career by painting for exhibition in galleries and juried shows. He has exhibited throughout the United States , and has been included in shows by the Oil Painters of America (2004 Award), the Scottsdale Artists' School, the Harrisburg , PA Art Association (Best of Show), and the National Oil & Acrylic Painters' Society (Monteverde Award). His work has been featured in Southwest Art Magazine (December '03), SkyWest Magazine (June '06} and American Art Collector (November '07).
